Das Forscherteam Mareike Tiede (Lesung, Schauspiel) und Philipp Nykrin (Klavier) stellt neue Fragen an das alte Enigma Freiheit.

Zusammen mit dem Publikum sind die zwei diesem lodernden, lockenden, ungreifbaren Phänomen auf der Spur. Und so fördern sie im Selbstversuch so manch unerwarteten Gedankenbrocken und Erfahrungsschatz ans Tageslicht und begegnen dabei Philosophen, Poeten, Proleten und sich selbst.

Namby Pamby Boy-Hangover

this week i’ve been recording with a new band that has only been performing live for a few times.
it consists of the austrian musicians Lorenz Raab (trumpet, electronics), Herbert Pirker (drums, toys)
and yours truly on the keyboards and bass.
we think of Crème Pro l’eau as a “realtime comprovisation ensemble”, meaning that there is no precomposed material, we just work with what we throw at each other – live and in the studio. soundwise, i’m playing mostly synthesizers and both Lorenz and I are messing around with electronics and loopers. Herberts playstyle in the band is very beat-focused. Lorenz switches from being an expressive soloist into other roles, sometimes morphing his electrified trumpet in a heavy bass-like sound, sometimes laying down pads and harmonies for me to work with.
